Join Us
Joining the Reading Astronomical Society is really easy. The simplest way is to come along to one of our friendly meetings and say “I’m thinking of joining your society” we can answer any questions you may have on the night, and you can then enjoy that evenings meeting. As you may have seen we hold Monthly talks with guest speakers, Zoom calls and Outreach Meetings, something for everyone, just come along to any of our events to get started

Yearly Subscription Costs
Our subsciption annual year runs from September until the following August. This aligns with most of the societies activities, The current rates are:-
Standard Member: £35:00
Retired / Unwaged Member: £35:00
Student* Member: FREE
Visitor** : £5 per meeting.
* Students attending school, college or universities
** First main meeting is free
2026/2027 Season
The 2026/2027 Season is almost upon us, the first Main Meeting of the 2026/2027 season is the 19th September. There is just our AGM left in this 2025/2026 season. But do come along to the AGM anyway and say hello, you would be warmly welcomed.
The 2026/27 membership form has been added below.
The 2026/27 membership form is really simple to fill in at home and then emailed to the RAS on your mobile or computer. No need to print it out. The steps to follow are:-
- Click on the form below. The form will then be downloaded to your Mobile/Computer
- Open the file on your Mobile/Computer and just type in the information required – no need to print the form – it’s really easy on the screen.
- Once its complete just email just to:- membership@readingastro.org.uk.
- Payment details for the year are on the form. If you cannot send the money electronically just bring Card/Cash (Card preferred) to your next meeting.
If you do not have a Mobile/computer of your own it will be possible to complete with a pen at your first meeting, though you may be be caught in delays. The online form is the simpelist and quickist.
